Children's Ministry

Children are a precious heritage and gift from God. We endeavor to provide our youngest parishioners with a safe, fun and interactive environment to learn about their Savior Jesus Christ. Through interactive play and storytelling, song and crafts we explore the biblical narrative and the joyful truth that God has sent his Son Jesus Christ to save us from sin.

Come learn with us!

FAQ's

  • We currently have programming for children 3 to 7 years old.

  • All the children are greeted and then circle up on the floor for sharing time. Each child and their life experiences are important and we encourage them to respectfully listen to others while they take turns talking. Then the teacher tells a Bible lesson story and engages the children by asking questions and encouraging responses. Sometimes the children help "retell" the story by acting it out. Lesson time closes with a short prayer thanking God for his love and care. Afterwards, the class typically plays a game or does a craft--sometimes both!

  • No. Children's programming is not in session from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This is to provide our volunteers and their families an opportunity to rest and be together during the summer. However, children are treasured members of our church family and are welcome to remain in the sanctuary anytime of the year.

  • All our children’s ministry workers are required to complete Ministry Safe Training and have a background check. Two workers will be in the classroom at all times. If your child needs you (e.g., for toileting needs), we will walk him out to you.

  • No. Since we believe that it is important for children to worship with their families,  they stay with their families until the sermon. Then they are dismissed for Sunday School which lasts about 30 minutes. Afterwards, they return to participate in the liturgy and Eucharist with the adults.

  • No worries. We've all been there. If you need to take your child or baby out for a break, we have a "cry room" with toys, a rocking chair and changing station. There is a window into the sanctuary so you won't have to miss a thing.
