Lauren Sings Living Prayer on Sunday, June 6, 2016

I heard Living Prayer (words and music by Ron Block) at the funeral for our dear friend, Sarah.  The recording by Alison Krauss lifted my spirits as I listened and watched a slide show of Sarah with her beloved family in her stronger, happier days.

Enter Lauren, a gifted musician. Sunday – her first time sharing her gifts solo at St. Augustine’s – she played the guitar and sang this glorious song of glory to God.

You’ll find the words below..and the link to St. Augustine’s YouTube channel so you can hear Lauren.

God touches our lives in more ways that we know or can imagine. Thankfully, music is one of His greatest gifts to us.

Take my life and let it be a living prayer, my God to thee.

Living Prayer

Words and Music by Ron Block

In this world I walk alone with no place to call my home
But there’s one who holds my hand
The rugged road through barren lands
The way is dark, the road is steep
But He’s become my eyes to see
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear
The Savior lives inside me there

In your love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to thee

In these trials of life I find
Another voice inside my mind
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives

In your love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to thee
take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to thee.

St. Augustine’s Anglican Church

We believe we are changed by God to make a difference for God. St. Augustine's is Anglican in its design: rich in liturgy, Biblically-based preaching, traditional and contemporary music. We worship with a sense of mystery, contemplation, and majesty as we bring an ancient Christian faith to our world today.
